village with 60 residents raised $400,000 annually from speeding tickets

New Rome traffic trap

Although New Rome Ohio is a small village in Ohio, has 60 residents and 14 cops, it can raise 400 grand annually from speeding tickets – the speed limit sudden drop from 72 km/h to 56 km/h in the road cross the village, it’s an obvious trap, they also fine drivers for dusty taillights and improperly tinted windows, all money funneled back to the cops. New Rome is also very corrupt, when it attracted national media attention due to its infamy it became disreputable. The village had to be disbanded in 2004 as the town officials’ nonfeasance and malfeasance.
