Marlboro man died of lung disease

Eric Lawson who had acted the rugged cowboy in the Marlboro ads from 1978 to 1981 died of chronic lung disease at his home in San Luis Obispo on January 10, 2014, at the age of 72. According to his wife Susan Lawson, Lawson began to smoke at his age of 14 and had not quitted smoking until he was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. It is known that two other Marlboro ad men also died of smoking-related diseases before, David Millar died of emphysema in 1987, David Mclean died of lung cancer in 1995.  Lawson brought huge success to Marlboro, Marlboro returned him a large amount of money but it can’t return health.
