Doctor removed his appendix himself

Dr removes his own appendix

On April 29, 1961, 27-year-old Soviet surgeon Leonid Rogozov stationed at Antarctic research station, while there he developed with acute appendicitis, but as he was the only doctor there and the terrible weather he had to perform an appendectomy on himself otherwise he would die. The surgery lasted nearly two hours, he would stop to have a rest for a few seconds every 5 minutes, which made him recover from blood loss, weakness and vertigo although there was a local anesthetic. Finally, he succeeded and returned to work after 2 weeks. He is an extraordinary man with a surprising power!
