A Pint for a Pint

blood for beer

In Ireland,”A Pint for a Pint ” was a 30 years tradition that anyone donate a pint of blood can get a pint of Guinness to replace iron, of course you can choose biscuits or crackers too.

This program was stopped in 2009 because the blood alcohol limits would be further reduced by government, they want  to reduce drunk drive, but this didn’t influence blood donation rate and many bars still supply free beer to donors.

Many Irish believe donating blood is a great thing and they are encouraged by family to do it.
